Once I was old enough to realize I had gut issues (around age 14) I knew it was from what I ate. Pizza, cheese, cookies, ice cream, tacos, cake and all of my favorite foods were making me sick and I was having some serious teenage angst about life. (insert wild emotions! all the time!) Over the years I self discovered certain foods made me ill and certain foods made me feel great. I went to numerous doctors and was basically told to try to eat less gluten and dairy if they made me sick. That was great and all… but telling a college student to not take advantage of $1 a slice pizza was not going to work.
Fast forward to 2014 when I discovered The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I was mindlessly scrolling through Facebook at the time and discovered this glorious school. All of their core values resonated with me so much it brought me to tears of joy! I felt like I belonged here and that I could learn so much about nutrition, myself why my health wasn’t so great at the time. I could finally take action with my health! Once I learned these things about myself I wanted to be able to teach others so like any major decision in my life I made a pro and con list. It took me ONE WHOLE YEAR to build the courage to enroll! But once I did there was no going back and I LOVED that.
